Gunshots All That Jazzie J JH...
On July 3rd, 2001, we put Jaz
down. She was just over three years old. She had gotten
cancer. Maybe she could have lived longer, but I refused to
take the chance that she could suffer.
I had gotten her from Andy Giegold. At first he didn't really want to sell her to me. He had done a nice breeding and he was planning to keep this nice female from the litter to do further breeding. I eventually talked him into letting me keep her, which he agreed to only if I would train her for Hunt Tests with him. I am so glad now that I did agree to his condidtions.
I was very lucky to get
this great dog as my first dog to seriously train with. She
was very talented and enthusiastic. She also covered for my
mistakes. She was precise in marking and running blinds.
She easily got her Junior Hunter title. We were beginning work
on her Senior, but we hadn't run any tests yet. She was ready
though and I know she could have gone all the way through the Hunt
Test program with little problem.
The whole family dearly loved her. Especially me and my daughter Lauren, though. I guess she gave us each whatever we really needed. We all have dearly missed her too. We were fortunate enough to get a dog shortly after Jaz left that helped fill the hole in our hearts. But, there will never be another dog just like her.
We will never forget you Jaz: family member, hunting companion, sleeping buddy and best friend. Wait for us, girl. Someday we'll be together again.
